David Astor Now Writing For Huffington Post
Self syndication back in the late 80's and early 90's was simple because there wasn't much competition and the internet didn't proliferate our lives as much as it does now. A simple mention of my work in Editor and Publisher's Syndicates section always prompted a few inquiries and it was great to get that kind of publicity because alot of editors zero'd in on what that publication had to offer. Now with the internet at every editor's fingetips, the market for cartoons has become homogenized wherein artists seek out and work one on one with their own "private" clientele. Needless to say I miss those simpler times and David's position at Editor and Publisher did lend alot of valuable creedence to the cartoon and comc strip world.
